Cooking Essentials for Everyone

Here at Crosswoods, we love cooking. Not only do we love cooking for our local families, we love cooking for our own families at home. Today we would like to share with you a few must have in your kitchen. They may seem simple. However, they can really transform your cooking habits. This is for all aspiring culinary chef just as it is for the ordinary home cook. Below are a few suggestions that we keep in our kitchens.

Cookware Set

The first thing that we recommend is a cookware set. This is a cheaper option than buying each pot and pan individually. Furthermore, they come in packs and sometimes include items you wouldn’t think to buy. This is the first tool to utilize in your kitchen.

Serving Set

Another thing we recommend having is a serving set. While we recognize that it is not a necessity, it makes it look like you know what you’re doing. It’s always nice to have things that match. Furthermore, why not serve your soon to be amazing dishes on things that look nice together.

All-In-One Measuring Device

Having to buy separate things to measure everything can be a hassle. That is why we recommend getting an all in one measuring cup. This can save so much time trying to find the right size measuring device. Moreover, this is very handy when measuring multiple items at different quantities.

Knives

It almost seems impossible to walk into a kitchen without there being a knife. They are used for so many different reasons. We recommend buying a set of knives that includes several different sizes and styles.

Palm Peeler

One thing that most people don’t utilize is a palm peeler. This is a quick and easy way to peel several different foods. Also it is a safe option because you hold it with your palm and it is very difficult to peel off any skin.

Chopping Boards

It is inevitable to have a successful kitchen without cutting boards. So many foods such as meats and vegetables are typically cut before being cooked. Also, cutting boards are easy to store if you buy the right kind. Just as things mentioned above you can buy cutting boards in sets. We highly recommend this that way there’s different options for what you’re cooking.

Baking Dishes

I think the shoes are needed for just about any dish. We recommend having a few different size baking dishes depending on what you’re cooking. These dishes can be used for casseroles, cakes and side dishes. Also they come in several different colors and patterns. This is a great way to show some of your style in your kitchen.

Cooking Utensils

You will need utensils and whatever dish you decide to cook. One tip that we offer to you is buying plastic totes. Furthermore these or more gentle on your pots and pans and easier to sanitize after being used.

Skillet

We recommend this item for several different reasons. It is one of the easiest things to cook on four different meals. Also, there are several different types of skillets to buy. For example, there are stainless steel, cast iron or nonstick. We recommend getting stainless steel skillet for beginners. This won’t stay in and it won’t ship as easily as the other two can. Additionally, it is easier to clean.

Strainer

The last thing we recommend is a strainer of some kind. These are fairly cheap and are needed in the kitchen. This is a great way to drain water out of pasta or scoop out vegetables for different dishes. It’s also great to rinse other foods before cooking in the strainer. We recommend always having at least one strainer in your kitchen ready to use at all times.
